Have you ever been interested in writing/blogging about the Minnesota Timberwolves?
On The Prowl is seeking contributors for the 2016/17 season and beyond. If you have a passion for writing and giving insightful commentary on the Timberwolves and NBA basketball, this may be of interest to you.
News coverage - Breaking news, big news, small news. Trade rumors, trade proposals, "he said, she said." It all needs covered. If the Wolves are simply an interest to you and you love covering the news, this could be a fit for you. We need people who can be on call for a quick need and get the conversation going.
Analysis - The heartbeat of our site is analysis of the game. We hope to give you the best possible understanding of past and future moves by the franchise, the players, and the game at large.
Editorials - If you have a voice for writing, and/or have something to share with Wolves fans or the basketball world, this could be the place for you. Personal interest stories, longform articles, interviews with players or management -- there could be many possibilities if this interests you.
Create your own - I am extremely flexible when it comes to article ideas. If something interests you and you want to write about it, this is a great place to do so.
On The Prowl is gaining steam among national media organizations, and this includes our content and tweets being featured on Bleacher Report’s Timberwolves Team Stream. Thousands of Wolves fans every day scroll through the B/R Team Stream and see our content and tweets on display with some of the other big-name blogs and websites. Our content also has been featured on Timberwolves.com, CBS Sports, and ESPN.
If you are pursuing a career in sports (journalism, communications, media relations) or are simply a bigtime Wolves fan, it is a great way to increase name recognition and gain valuable experience.
What's the compensation like?
It's simple. At the end of each month, you add up the number of articles you've written for that month, then multiply it by zero. :)
Sorry, folks. I'd love to be able to compensate right now, but money is tight. In the future, this may be a possibility.
As I said above, the prime benefit of the position is the exposure/experience. This is a GREAT way to improve your writing skills, which will vastly help you (if you desire) in your quest of landing a job in the journalism industry.
We pride ourselves as being a prime destination for intelligent discussion about the Wolves. We do that through three primary avenues: writing, analysis, and conversation. If you have a passion for any of these, or at least a strong interest, we have a place for you here. Experience is gained, so don't let that deter you.
How do I apply?
If you are interested in applying for a writing/blogging position at On The Prowl, email me at email@example.com.
I will do my best to get back to everyone quickly.
